Welcome to
Skeptinomics
Bridging
the gap between what we are told and the reality we experience.
We try to make those grey areas in politics and economics
more black and white.
Do
you ever have that nagging feeling that you aren’t being told the
whole truth? Have you
ever wondered:
Why
the economy you are experiencing never seems to quite line up with
the one you see and hear about on TV?
Why
the political system always seems to work for someone else?
Why
government never solves any problems?
Why representative government never seems to represent
the people, but always comes through for business.
Why
business can’t be trusted?
Why
the “justice system” isn’t?
What
is really going on around the world?
What
solutions to some of our problems might look like?
We
discuss these things and more.
Our sample article “Why the bailout can’t and won’t work”
will give you an idea of where we are coming from.
Other topics we will be discussing: The problems with
Iraq
and Afghanistan,
why they are not winnable; the debt bubble; the rest of the story on
globalization and international trade.
Skeptinomics
attempts to provide explanations that do a better job of revealing
what is really going on as opposed to what we get fed in more
conventional media. We
try to cover things from the perspective of the typical person - the
world we see. We also
bridge some of the gap between the “conspiracy theory” types and
more conventional thinkers.
The applicable phrase here is that “there is less here than
meets they eye.” While
it may be true that we are not getting the straight goods on what is
going on, there isn’t really anything convoluted about it when you
look at it systematically.
We
try to be a skeptic’s guide to politics and economics and strive to
stay within the realm of what can be observed, and offer solutions
that might solve the issue.
In that regard we look to ways of closing the gap between
where we are and where we would like to be – to identify what stands
between us and a better way of life, and how to remove the
obstacles.
Our
articles are published every two weeks, and for the time being are free
to download. We also will post eBooks as they
are available, and eventually hope to sell them. If we get
enough interest, we may start a blog to get folks sharing their
ideas. The key focus of a blog would be on not only
identifying problem areas, but on possible solutions.
